It is with sadness that I announce the passing of our mother Kathleen Valerie Edith Pollard at the age 70 years on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 with her family at her side at the Riverview Health Center in Winnipeg .
Kathleen was born on February 22, 1956 in Atikokan, Ontario to Fredrick Albert and Anne Pollard.
Kathleen had an impact on each person she interacted with. Kathleen was courageous, inspirational, kind, loving, funny, full of joy, a ball of fire that showed us what can be accomplished with determination and persistence . Kathleen lived her life to the fullest prior to the challenges of dementia. Kathleen’s warmth and generous spirit brought joy to many who knew her. Kathleen had an infectious laugh. There wasn’t a time I don’t remember music playing in the house which she always sang and danced along with. Kathleen’s love and devotion to the word of God was something that made her inspiring and will not be quickly forgotten.
Kathleen is survived by her daughters Kristaline and Amy, her five sisters Cindy, Dorothy DJ (Ernie),Christine (Simon), Lorelei (Harald), and Caroline. As well as many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was predeceased by her father Fredrick Albert and mother Anne as well as her younger brother Kirby.
We would like to extend our most heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Riverview Health Center for all their love, and care over the years. Also our thanks to Rock at Rock Fontaine Personal Funeral Services for all his help and direction in our time of grief and planning.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday evening September 10, 2026 at 6:00 pm at Kildonan Community Church, 2373 Main Street Winnipeg, MB. The Service will be live streamed. Watch this page for the link.
