Donald Glen Olmstead, 71, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026. Born April 8, 1955, in Minnedosa, Manitoba. Don was the son of the late Glen and Marjorie Olmstead. Don is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters Jeanette, with granddaughters Skyla and Jayla, and Amanda, with granddaughters Kiera and Gemma; sisters Adele Lane (Dan), Elaine Price (Gerry), and Gail Rodger (Don); and many nieces and nephews.

Don began his career with CP Rail in 1976 and retired in 2011 after almost 40 years of service. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who did things to perfection. He enjoyed woodworking, hockey, baseball, working on the farm, helping others, and political discussions. He was known for his love of history and playing cards with family and friends.

Don met Linda while working at Fairview Nursing Home in Brandon, and they married in 1977. Together they lived and raised their family in Rivers, Brandon, and Winnipeg. His family and faith in Jesus Christ were central to Don's life.

Don will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generosity, soft heart, and love for his family!

A funeral service will be held Friday, October 16, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Springs Church, 725 Lagimodiere Boulevard, Winnipeg. Donations can be made to Springs Church. Officiating is Pastor Danny Michael.
