Fran (Florence) Conley
Fran (Florence) Conley (nee Hominiuk)
May 21, 1923 – March 18, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Fran (Florence) Conley (nee Hominiuk). She joins her husband, Jack Conley, daughter Darlene, and son Jack in heaven, as well as her brothers, sisters, parents, and nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her surviving grandchildren, Chelsea Bussoli, Rick Bussoli and Christopher Lejohnna.
Fran adored her family, always putting loved ones’ needs before her own. A devoted Christian, she raised her children and grandchildren to love God and stayed true to her faith, even when life challenged her with tragedy. The heart of the family, Fran’s biggest joy was spending time with loved ones. She loved getting the family together and always made every occasion feel special, whether it was a big holiday or just a cozy family dinner.
Born on May 21, 1923, in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba, Fran grew up on the family farm before moving to Winnipeg to attend college. She embraced the city, loving Winnipeg and always being proud to call it home. A gifted storyteller, Fran loved telling her family about her experiences growing up in the country, always adding her signature sense of humour. She was able to give rare glimpses into a simpler, gentler time before the rush of modern technology, when people leaned on each other and kindness was a way of life. She taught her children and grandchildren to exercise that same love, kindness and compassion. She made us all feel incredibly loved and cared for.
We will deeply miss her, and she will forever live in our hearts. We are so grateful for the time we spent together and the memories we shared.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 1:00 pm at St. Vital Cemetery, officiating will be Pastor Bruce Martin.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
