Ruth was predeceased by twins Penny and Denny in infancy in 1965, husband Dennis in 2000, son Eric in 2019, and son Darcy in 2022.

Ruth was born in Saskatchewan in the Product District to parents Elias and Ingeborg Norlin. She was the
7th child in a family of 9.  Ruth had many fond memories of life on the farm. She loved skating on the pond in winter and swimming in the summer.  Her family was musical and she enjoyed playing instruments and singing with them. She met the love of her life at a local dance when she was 16 and they married on May 27, 1954. They settled in Wynyard before moving to BC to work in the lumber mill. They returned to Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg in 1969. They started the auction business in 1971, where Ruth quickly found herself fully engaged in growing the business, whether it be clerking, setting up items for auction to running her own lunch counter.

At the age of 34, Ruth made the important decision to follow Christ. As a result of this, Dennis and Ruth’s love for music and sharing the gospel led them to start a family gospel band, Morrow Gospel Singers.  The group was together for about 20 years and travelled to churches, fairs, rodeos, nursing homes and many other events.

The Morrow family purchased a cottage on Longbow Lake where she spent many enjoyable years to relax and enjoy her children and grandchildren. She loved the water and swimming was a favourite pastime. Here she had time to practice her accordion and even pick the banjo.

Some of the things that brought joy to Ruth was spending time listening to her favourite music which included Dolly Parton and many others. She loved walking in her neighbourhood, and having visits with her neighbour Val. On a lighter note, she loved her shoes and her porcelain doll collection.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Heather and Glen for the ongoing care and support they gave to Mom.

Thank you, Mom, for your love to all of us and the prayers that you prayed for us.

Join our family in celebrating Ruth’s life on Nov 14th@11:00 AM at the Morrow Gospel Church at 755 St. Annes Road, Winnipeg. Service will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend.
